Organizing ability , neatness and tidiness come naturally to only a few. Others have to learn it and their parents and teachers have to teach them how to stay organized , neat and tidy. The start has to be made at an early age with children and results are always rewarding. You'll find your kids room is tidy most of the time without having to tell him to clean up. This may apply even to his school kit and exercise book.
1. Involve kids In Arranging Things : You can make a start at an early age. Even when child is a toddler hold a basket to him and ask him to drop his toys in it when he finishes playing with it. When you arrange his room or his table or his school kit involve your child and let him feel for himself how simple the job is and his surroundings look much better with his room tidied and arranged. There can be a small reward at the end of the job even if it is a word of appreciation and a compliment for having done good work. Also remind him that his room looks much better and he can find his things like books , pencils or erasers easily after there are put in a proper place.
Childrens Storage Shelves
2. Schedule Cleaning : Inculcate a regular habit in your child to do cleaning and arranging. For instance , at the end of finishing his homework or just before going to bed empty his school bag , shake dust and lint out of it and put back his school kit According to his next days timetable. It will save both of you quite a bit of hassle next morning when the child gets ready to go to school and when the time is limited.
3. Assigning Places For Things : There should be a storage place for everything that the child has in his room. It maybe drawers , cupboards , shelves. It will help if you can put labels for example , there can be a label saying "toys" on the basket which will hold the kids toys or a label on the wall where there is a peg for the child to hang his school bag.
4. Arranging The Bed : This needs to be done by every child no matter how small he may be. The bed being the central piece of furniture in a bedroom needs to be arranged properly everyday if you want the room to look presentable. This will also make the child understand the importance of organization.
Some children need guidance or simply put a helping hand to learn the skill of organization , while others pick it up on their own. So , just follow the advise given above to make sure that your child becomes an organized and efficient individual.
